Strategy for Prevention and Combating Domestic Violence in BiH PDF Print

Strategy for Prevention and Combating Domestic Violence in BiH for the period from 2009-2011 was adopted in 2009 by the Council of Minsters of B-H and was approved by the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

A multi-sectoral working group drafted the Strategy. The Strategy includes activities that are being implemented at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as coordination and implementation of the entity strategic and action plans for their efficient implementation. 

 

 

The long term strategic goal in prevention of domestic violence is the following: to ensure harmonised and adequate prevention of domestic violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina by authorities at all levels and NGOs, which includes the following specific objectives:
  • Place victims of domestic violence in the center of attention and protection,
  • Raise awareness about domestic violence being a society’s problem, as well as violation of human rights and that each institution and an individual must confront it,
  • Oblige community to priorities this problem, to show political will and provide resources, multisectoral and coordinated approach for reaching concrete results in its resolution.
 
The main and special goals of the Strategy for Prevention and Combating of Domestic Violence in BiH combines goals from the Strategic Plan for Prevention of Domestic Violence in FBiH (2009-2010) and operational goals of the Action Plan for Combating Domestic Violence of RS (2007-2008) and future strategy for combating domestic violence in RS (2009-2013).
